Blooming Rides Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Blooming Rides’ services. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Blooming Rides’ services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Service Description

We proudly serve seniors, individuals with disabilities, patients attending non-emergency medical appointments, and the families or caregivers who support them. Whether the trip is for routine medical visits, rehabilitation, dialysis, personal errands, community outings, or family events, we aim to ensure every rider experiences dependable service, respectful assistance, and seamless door-to-door care.

Our drivers are trained in accessibility, safety protocols, and customer support, allowing riders to travel with confidence. Blooming Rides is committed to promoting independence, reducing transportation barriers, and helping our community members stay connected to essential resources and daily life.

3. Booking and Payment

Bookings may be scheduled online or by calling 774-300-9097. All ride requests must include complete and accurate trip details, including pickup and drop-off locations, date and time, passenger needs (such as wheelchair assistance), and contact information. Rides are considered confirmed only after full payment is received and a confirmation is sent via email or text message.

By using this website and providing your phone number or email address, you consent to receive communications from Blooming Rides, including ride confirmations, payment updates, service-related notifications, and occasional promotional messages.

Payment is required at the time of booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Zelle. Cash payments are not accepted.

4. Medical appointments

Round-trip medical appointments include up to 60 minutes of complimentary wait time. If your appointment is expected to last longer than 60 minutes, please provide a return pickup time in advance. 

Rides exceeding 60 minutes are subject to an additional fee of $25 per hour. If an appointment runs longer than planned due to the provider or clinic without prior communication or customer request driver to wait, and if driver availability allows, the $25 per hour wait fee will apply.

5.Durable Medical Equipment (DME) & Stair Assistance Policy

To ensure the safety of all riders and drivers, Blooming Rides maintains the following operational limitations:

Transfer Assistance & Durable Medical Equipment

Blooming Rides drivers are not permitted to perform physical transfers or operate durable medical equipment (DME). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Hoyer lifts

  • Transfer boards or slide boards

  • Gait belts

  • Mechanical or electronic lift systems

  • Facility-owned or personal transfer equipment

Riders must be fully transferred and properly seated in their wheelchair or mobility device prior to the driver’s arrival. Drivers are unable to assist with transfers from beds, chairs, toilets, recliners, stretchers, or any other surface.

If transfer assistance is required, it must be completed by a responsible caregiver, family member, or facility staff before transportation can begin.

Rider Readiness Requirement

At the time of pickup, all riders must:

  • Be seated securely in their wheelchair or approved mobility device

  • Be properly positioned and ready for transport

  • Have a clear, safe, ground-level path to the vehicle

Drivers will secure wheelchairs inside the vehicle using appropriate safety restraints once the rider is properly positioned.

If a rider is not ready upon arrival and requires assistance outside of these guidelines, the trip may be canceled and subject to applicable cancellation fees.

Stair & Stairway Restrictions

For safety and insurance liability reasons, Blooming Rides drivers:

  • Do not assist riders up or down stairs

  • Do not carry or lift riders

  • Do not move wheelchairs or mobility equipment on stairs

  • Do not transport riders while navigating staircases

All pickups and drop-offs must occur at ground level. If stairs are present at the location, arrangements must be made in advance to ensure the rider is safely positioned on the ground floor prior to the driver’s arrival.

Safety & Liability Compliance

These policies are strictly enforced to:

  • Protect riders from injury

  • Protect drivers from unsafe lifting situations

  • Comply with insurance coverage requirements

  • Maintain consistent service and safety standards

Blooming Rides reserves the right to refuse or cancel service if conditions at pickup or drop-off locations present a safety risk or require assistance beyond the scope of our services.

6. Limitation of Liability

Blooming Rides shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising during the course of transportation services, except where such injury, loss, or damage is directly caused by the proven negligence or willful misconduct of Blooming Rides or its employees.

Passengers and their representatives are responsible for securing and safeguarding all personal belongings during loading, unloading, and transit. Blooming Rides is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Blooming Rides understands that schedules can change. To ensure reliable service for all riders and to account for reserved time and resources, the following cancellation policy applies:

Client Cancellations

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled pickup time will receive a full refund.

  • Refunds are credited to the original payment method and may take up to 10 days to process.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time will be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the trip cost.

  • No-shows (when the rider is not available at the scheduled pickup time and no prior notice is given) will be charged 100% of the trip cost.

  • If the driver arrives and is unable to complete the trip due to rider unavailability, incorrect information, or refusal of service, the trip will be considered a no-show.

Rescheduling Policy

Rides may be rescheduled at no additional charge, and the original payment will be fully credited toward the next scheduled Blooming Rides transportation.

To ensure we can best accommodate all riders:

Rescheduled rides must be rebooked and completed within 180 days of the original service date

Credits not used within this 180-day rescheduling window will expire and are not eligible for a refund

Rescheduled rides are subject to driver and vehicle availability

Recurring & Scheduled Rides

  • For recurring or pre-scheduled rides, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of each individual ride.

  • Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in termination of recurring service.

8. Blooming Rides Right to Cancel

Blooming Rides reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a ride at any time due to, but not limited to:

  • Unsafe driving conditions (weather, road closures, accidents). See Policy 7 for further details

  • Vehicle issues or maintenance needs

  • Driver illness or emergency

  • Incorrect or incomplete booking information

  • Safety concerns involving the rider or pickup/drop-off location

  • Non-payment or payment disputes

If Blooming Rides cancels a ride, the client will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

9. Credit Policy

Blooming Rides may issue a service credit in limited circumstances, including approved cancellations, service disruptions, or billing adjustments. All service credits are issued at the sole discretion of Blooming Rides.

Service credits:

  • Are valid for up to 12 months from the original scheduled service date, unless otherwise specified
  • Are non-transferable and issued to the original customer only
  • Have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash or refunds
  • Must be applied to a future Blooming Rides service of equal or greater value
  • Are subject to availability, service area limitations, and operating hours
  • Unused credits expire after the applicable validity period.

10. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be issued to the original form of payment within 5–10 business days, depending on the payment provider.

By booking with Blooming Rides, clients acknowledge and agree to this cancellation policy.

11. Inclement Weather Policy

Blooming Rides prioritizes safety above all else. Service may be canceled, delayed, or rescheduled due to inclement weather conditions that create unsafe driving or loading conditions. This includes unsafe road conditions, unplowed or icy driveways, unclear or unsafe wheelchair access paths, or when a weather-related emergency is declared by the state, city, or town.

If Blooming Rides cancels a ride, the client will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

12. Audio/Video Recording Notice

For the safety and security of all passengers and drivers, Blooming Rides may use audio and/or video recording devices inside company vehicles during transportation services. These recordings help ensure quality service, verify incidents, and maintain a safe environment.

By booking a ride or entering a Blooming Rides vehicle, you acknowledge and consent to the use of such recording devices. Recordings may capture audio, video, or both, depending on the vehicle and equipment used.

Blooming Rides will not share or release any recordings unless required by law, requested by law enforcement, or needed to investigate a safety, service, or liability matter. Recordings are stored securely and retained only for a reasonable period consistent with company policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

14. Changes to Terms

Blooming Rides reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website.
